Food Stylin' for work - a few food porn photos that made the rounds of the interwebs (no thanks to me)

Every month my former employer sends out a new allergy-friendly, gluten-free (and usually vegan) recipe to a number of prominent blogs focused on food allergies and celiac. The recipes are usually accompanied by a pretty picture - or, rather, a prettyish picture. 

I'm not sure who usually takes the pictures, but this month the PR person (who I guess takes the pictures) forgot her camera and I just happened to have mine there. Because someone had mentioned to me that there was a possibility that some pictures would need to be taken.

So I ended up taking the pictures for the recipe. Though I'm usually a minimalist in my backgrounds, I ended up using a number of 'holiday' props (ahem, not Christmas, not Hannukkah) to provide a certain holiday glow.

I can't really recommend the recipes - I'm a bake-from-scratch kinda girl and these recipes are showcases for the products the company produces. But the pictures are fun!

Gluten-free, egg-free baking: Grandma's Chocolate Cake (and it is vegan, too) I've finally managed to adapt one of my favorite chocolate cake recipes - the only tricky thing about this is the Salba/Chia seeds I used - you can substitute ground flax meal, but it won't be quite the same. You could also just replace it with eggs, if you like eggs. Which I do, but I was baking this for a friend who isn't doing eggs right now.
